We spent the Rapp's first full day of vacation at the beach. For those of you who don't know my sister's family joined us on vacation along with her in-laws. We had a total of thirteen in our group, eight adults and five kids all five and under. We thought it would be best to not go to a Disney park the day after the Rapp's arrived since their flight got in so late. Cocoa Beach is only about an hour drive from Orlando so we all hopped in our cars mid-morning and headed to the beach. We started out with a trip to the famous Ron Jon's Surf Shop. After shopping Brian and Jerry grabbed us some lunch and the rest of us went and got setup on the beach. This was Grace and Sydney's first trip to the beach. They both have been talking about it forever. They even play beach at home. Well, before we even made it though the parking lot Sydney was crying that she didn't like the sand because it was dirty. I knew we were in for trouble at the point. Mike ended up carrying her down to where we were setup and she stayed on the blanket for a while. Finally after lunch Mike got her to go down near the water and play in the sand. She would not sit in it but did squat down and play. Grace on the other hand loved the beach. She even let Mike bury her in the sand and had so much fun playing in the ocean. Tucker, Carter and Jenna also loved the beach. The boys had been before but this was Jenna's first trip. Jenna was so good. Our beach day was a ton of fun. For dinner that nigh we had reservations at the T-Rex Cafe in Downtown Disney so we packed up mid-afternoon and headed back to the condos. We had a great dinner but afterward and unfortunate incident occurred. Tucker was playing on a playground set outside the Lego store and tripped and fell and busted open his chin. It was bad enough that he made a visit to the local urgent care clinic and ended up getting it glued. Luckily, it didn't stop him from having fun the rest of the trip. Here are some photos I took.
